An invitation to support the work of Keep Our NHS Public

If you are reading this we hope it is because you support our work and would like to make a financial contribution towards the campaign. The Health & Social Care Act has been passed and this new phase of the campaign now seeks to monitor and, in time, reverse this coalition government's legislation, which as you know, paves the way for further privatisation and marketisation of the NHS. This is a major long-term battle. To be more effective we need to expand Keep Our NHS Public into a larger campaigning organisation dedicated to preserving the ethos and values of the NHS. So far we have operated with a few part-time staff and an army of terrific volunteers. The volume of work and task at hand is such that expansion from the shoestring resources we've been operating on is the obvious and only option.

Anything you are able to donate, either as a one-off donation or as a regular standing order, will go towards supporting the work of the campaign. It is especially helpful if you are able to contribute a regular donation - no matter how small - as it enables us to plan ahead. As well as engaging more paid staff and seeking the best possible advice from experts in the field, we need funds for printing and distributing the arguments and information to back up our case, as well as publishing online. Our work includes providing speakers for campaign meetings around the country, as well as organising and staging our own events. All of these activities, and many more, will help build up an organisation that can help coordinate and strengthen local campaigns and initiatives.

Keep Our NHS Public's activities so far have been funded by a few individuals, a few trade union and Labour party branches, and by the NHS Consultants Association and Unite, as well as a huge amount of time and expertise given by volunteers. We obtained two small grants in the last four years from the Andrew Wainwright and Joseph Rowntree Reform Trusts and will be re-applying for funds via grant applications.

To go further we need to raise money to rent premises, employ full time staff and run the campaign on a more professional footing. So if you support what we stand for, and have signed our launch statement, we would like to ask you to consider sending us a donation or request a donation from your trade union branch or committee, or any other organisation which supports our aims and objectives.

In the hope that you can spare some funds, below we have listed a number of ways you can donate - please choose whichever suits you best. If you choose to ask your bank to transfer to us, both the standing order and donate forms, should be returned to KONP (and we will forward to your bank). Any amount, large or small, is very much appreciated. All donations will be used to support the activities of Keep Our NHS Public.

Finally ...

Finally, we do appreciate there are many ways you can support our work, aside from contributing financially.
